Fui and Duy’s romance blossomed when they met in their workplace — fast forward a couple of years and Duy popped the question at a romantic picnic on the shores of Sorrento Beach.
Just like that, the planning for their dream day began. When Fui & Duy came across the natural-light-filled Isabella Fraser Room at State Library Victoria, they knew it was the perfect space to celebrate their special day. They were drawn to the rooms’ soft features and welcoming atmosphere — light coloured walls, soft parquetry floorboards and classy accents.
Letting the history and elegance of the venue speak for itself, the couple decided upon a classic theme, consisting of soft styling details with dusty shaded florals and pops of blue used throughout.
Leading up to the big day, Fui and Duy worked with their coordinators, Chloe and Colleen, at Showtime Event Group to create a to-do list, and execute it — something that kept them on track, and made the process an exciting and enjoyable one.
Their advice to other couples is simple, “make use of the incredible knowledge your suppliers have, and don’t be afraid to share the load with any friends and families who may be willing to assist!”.
Having rescheduled from the year before due to lockdowns, when their wedding day arrived, the couple both felt it was a little surreal. It was impossible to wipe the smiles off the faces of Fui & Duy and their delightful guests. A particular highlight was the delicious food.
Precious moments were captured within the library, with the stunning backdrop of the La Trobe Reading Room being one of their favourites.
